what Pathista is and how to use itWhat Pathista is
Pathista runs the workflows you have written yourself, one step at a time, inside the chat of an AI assistant: ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants that speak MCP.
A workflow is a graph of steps with the ways from one step to the next, loops included. Start a run and Pathista hands the assistant only the current step: the instructions you wrote for it and the edges that lead on. The position in the workflow, the variables, the notes and the history are kept in your Pathista account, so a run can be continued in a later message or a later chat.
The step text is your own content, and only you can run your workflows. Pathista does not run generic to-do lists or reminders, and it does not run anyone else's workflows.
Workflows and runs are managed on this site: you edit a workflow in a form with a live graph, and every run has a page that shows where it stands.
Connect an assistant
one link, sign in onceAdd this MCP server URL to your assistant, then sign in to Pathista and allow access when asked:
https://pathista.com/mcp
The assistant registers itself; you do not need a client id or a secret. Any other MCP client that supports remote servers with sign-in (Codex, VS Code, Cursor) can use the same URL.
ChatGPT
custom MCP servertested- In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins in the sidebar and choose Add → Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Pathista, keep Server URL selected under Connection and paste the MCP server URL. Leave Authentication on OAuth and the advanced OAuth settings as detected — ChatGPT registers itself. Tick I understand and want to continue and choose Create as a plugin.
- ChatGPT then sends you to Pathista: sign in and Allow access.
- In a new chat, name Pathista in your request and ask it to start one of your workflows by name (e.g. “Start the "Weekly report" workflow in Pathista.”) ChatGPT asks your permission before a tool that changes something runs: allow it once, or always for Pathista. The progress widget shows a snapshot of the run's graph in the chat and refreshes when you press its Refresh button; the run page shows the run as it moves.
- After a Pathista update, open Settings → Plugins → Pathista, choose Refresh tools, then start a new chat.
No developer-mode switch is needed: this worked on a Free account in the web app. If Add custom MCP server is missing under Plugins, your workspace may not allow custom servers; an admin can change that.
Claude
custom connectortested- On claude.ai (or in Claude Desktop), open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Name it Pathista and paste the MCP server URL; leave the advanced OAuth fields empty — Claude registers itself.
- Choose Connect, sign in to Pathista and Allow access.
- In a chat, turn the connector on in the + menu and ask it to start one of your workflows by name (e.g. “Start the "Weekly report" workflow in Pathista.”) Ask for the run's progress to see its graph in the chat.
- After a Pathista update, if a tool or the graph fails, use Refresh tools list in the connector's ⋮ menu under Settings → Connectors.
A connector added on claude.ai also appears in Claude Code signed in to the same account, as claude.ai Pathista.
Claude Code
terminaltested- Add the server (
--scope userfor every project, the default is the current one):claude mcp add --transport http Pathista https://pathista.com/mcp - In Claude Code, run
/mcp, pick Pathista and choose Authenticate; sign in in the browser and Allow access. - The tools arrive as
mcp__pathista__…. The terminal shows no graph — follow the run here under Runs.
Already connected on claude.ai? Claude Code picks that connector up by itself; adding it here too gives you the same tools twice. If the project already has a server named Pathista, pick another name.
Your first run
- Create a free account and open the Plan my day template, then choose Use this template.
- In your assistant, ask: “Start the "Plan my day" workflow in Pathista.”
- Work through the steps in the chat. The assistant sees one step at a time and moves on when the step's work is done; ask it to show the run's progress to see the graph.
- Open the run on this site to follow it, and read its notes and history.
The tools
17 toolsAn assistant that is connected to Pathista gets these tools, in three groups. Every tool works only on the account that signed in.

Your data
This is a summary. The privacy policy is the full text, and where it overlaps this page the privacy policy counts.
What is stored
- Your account: email address, a hash of your password (never the password itself), passkeys and two-factor settings if you add them, sign-in security counters.
- Your content: workflows (names, steps, instructions, conditions and every saved version) and runs (title, position, variables, history, todos with their evidence, notes, and the reminder a detour leaves for the run it interrupted) — written by you or by the AI assistant you connect.
- Connected apps: the name and callback addresses an app registers, which apps you allowed to use your account, and the access tokens they hold.
Who can read it
Each account's workflows and runs are isolated from every other account's, and assistants reach them only with a token you granted.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
How long it is kept
- Account: until you delete it (Account → Personal data → Delete). Deleting the account also deletes your workflows, runs and connected-app grants.
- Workflows: until you delete them or your account.
- Runs: deleted automatically after a period of inactivity; you can delete a run earlier yourself.
- Connected-app tokens: Disconnecting an app revokes them at once.
The database has automatic backups, which are kept for 14 days. Data you delete can remain in those backups for up to 14 days.
Export, delete and disconnect
- Download your workflows and runs as JSON: Account → Personal data → Download.
- Delete single runs from the runs list, workflows from the workflows list, or your whole account.
- Disconnect an assistant: Account → Connected apps.
